Assets/Files

For Assets like Materials, Geometries, Textures and Shaders, one or more Files can be uploaded to the Database. This is done in this Page as described in the following.

In the upper-left corner, you may select the Asset type. Note. This is mostly setup automatically, depending from where you come from.

After selection of an Asset type, the left list shows all Assets of this type, that are currently available in both Support and Project DB.

After choosing an Asset, the right list shows all Files currently available for this Asset.

You may add new Files to existing Assets in the Project DB, by clicking New. Then a dialog opens and you may select the Mode (Preview, Low Res, etc.) and the Format (JPEG, etc.). Click 'Update' to add this File to the Asset. Then you'll see the new entry, but with size -1. Automatically, a file dialog opens for the new File. You may then select a File on your system and upload this to the Database. After successful upload, the right list will be refreshed and display the size of the File in KB.

If you click a File which is already available in the Database, and upload a new File then the File in the Database will be replaced.

By clicking 'Delete' you can delete a File from the Asset and Database.

Remarks

Provide always a file for mode Standard, except for Materials that only support Mode Preview at the moment.

Please make sure that the selected Format corresponds to the File you're uploading! This will not be checked.

The recommended Preview Size is 800 by 800 pixels. Previews should be either PNGs or JPEGs. For natural images such as textures, JPEGs are preferred, for drawings better use PNGs.
