PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS WHEN INSTALLING THE GEOMETRY MANAGER FOR THE FIRST TIME!

After installation, please use the “GeometryManager” entry in the Windows startbar or MacOS app menu.

MacOS (Step by Step)

• Download the package file from the direct link above.
• Do not open the pkg file directly, please open the Finder, goto Downloads and Ctrl+Click the pkg file and choose open in the popup menu.
• In the dialog next, click open and start the installation.
• If the installation finished, there must be an Entry “IG.GFX.GeometryManager” in the launchpad.

Windows (Step by Step)

Before installing the application, the following programs must be loaded and installed.

• .NET 6.0 Desktop Runtime (v6.0.6)
• Windows App Runtime 1.1 (v1.1.3)
• IG.GFX.GeometryManager 1.2

The download can be found at https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/6.0. Please use the 6.0.6 version, for other versions there is no guarantee that the application can run.

Donwload .NET 6.0

This runtime is necessary for execution and must be installed in the exact version.

Version 1.1.3 is required, for other versions there is no guarantee that the application can run.

Please select the correct download from https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/windows/apps/windows-app-sdk/downloads.

The latest 1.2 build can be downloaded here.

Please download the zip and decompress the files to an temporary folder.

The installation program is named as IG.GFX.GeometryManager?.msix, here named as MSIX.

BEFORE you can install the GM with the MSIX installation program , an certificate issued by IG must be installed once.

How can I tell if I have not installed the certificate yet?

If you run the installer (MSIX), the installation button is grayed out and not works.

Please follow the next chapter to install the certificate on to your pc.

Install the IG certificate

Please follow the steps exactly as described, otherwise the installation cannot be performed correctly.

There is an documentation on the Microsoft pages (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/maui/windows/deployment/overview#installing-the-app), you can use this guide, but note, the file is named IG.GFX.GeometryManager?4.msix in our case. * Open your installation folder and select the file IG.GFX.GeometryManager?.msix.

* Open the file details with right mouse click and then “Properties” or Alt+Return.

* Select the “Digital signatures” tab and select the certificate in this dialog.

* Use the “Details” button to open an extra dialog window.

* “Details” click on “View certificate”

* In the certificate window, use the “Install Certificate” button to add this certificate to your pc.

* Use the options Install on locale computer and Place all certificates in the following store.

* Select store “Trusted people”

* Close the dialog after all and restart the installation with the MSIX installer.

What should I do if the installation fails?

The first thing to check is that these instructions have been followed step by step and that all the necessary components have been installed and all the setup steps have been carried out successfully.
